A Dubai policeman could be imprisoned for no less than six months for posting a video indicating Barcelona star Lionel Messi's travel permit on online networking, reports said Wednesday.
The episode occurred at Dubai air terminal where Messi landed a month ago to go to the seventh version of the Globe Soccer Awards, in which he got the prize of best group and best player, neighborhood dailies said.
The Emirati policeman needed a photograph of himself with the Argentinian footballer however was told the star was drained from the flight, the National every day reported.
"I then went to the travel permit control work area and saw that Messi's international ID had been left there, so I lifted it up and shot a video of myself while holding it," it cited the policeman as saying.
He posted the video on the Snapchat application and composed: "This is Messi's (identification), he is here in Dubai, what do I do? Might I blaze the travel permit or simply set it back! Alright Ok you can go!"
The policeman showed up in court where he "conceded and conceded that he wasn't right when he posted Messi's visa points of interest on online networking,"
It said the policeman could confront at least six months in prison and a fine of up to 500,000 dirhams ($136,000).
Prosecutors blamed the policeman for "mishandling the telecom framework".
He was likewise accused of "breaking Messi's protection," the National said.
