Pakistan will have its Asia Oceania Group I Davis Cup tennis tie in Sri Lanka after adversaries China declined to visit the brutality hit nation over security fears, authorities said Friday.
The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) said they had trusted that the nation's solid financial connections with China would persuade authorities to convey the opposition to Lahore.
"It's frustrating to note that International Tennis Federation has rejected our allure of playing the tie in Pakistan and we are currently compelled to host it in Sri Lanka," said PTF secretary Khalid Rehmani.
The tie will be played from March 4-6.
The PTF had conjured the remote service's guide in the offer to hold the match at home however without any result, said Rehmani.
Pakistan have not facilitated a home tie subsequent to 2005.
Pakistan are back in Group I for the competition interestingly since 2006, while China clung onto their place with an assignment play-off win over Thailand in September a year ago.
This will be the 6th no holds barred meeting between the two groups, with China winning their last one 5-0 in 2006. The victor will confront seeded Uzbekistan for an opportunity to achieve the World Group play-offs
