Transfer deadline day: Seydou Doumbia joins Newcastle on loan

Newcastle have marked Roma and Ivory Coast forward Seydou Doumbia on credit, subject to global freedom. 

The 28-year-old moves to St James' Park until the end of the season, with a choice to make the arrangement lasting. 

Doumbia joined Roma in January 2015 for a reported £10m however showed up before coming back to previous club CSKA Moscow on credit in August. 

The striker, who scored 66 objectives in 108 class recreations for the Russian club, isNewcastle's fourth January marking. 

"Its a dependable fact that we have been hoping to add to our choices in the striking zone," Newcastle head mentor Steve McClaren said. 

"We have been scanning for a forward and were charmed when the open door emerged to take Seydou on advance. 

"He is a characteristic goalscorer, somebody who has scored objectives in the Champions League and has played at the most abnormal amount. We trust he can make an imprint in this group." 

Third-base Newcastle are two focuses from security with 15 matches remaining. 

Doumbia joins midfielders Jonjo Shelvey, Andros Townsend and Henri Saivet as the club's signings in this exchange window. 

"I am anticipating offering the club some assistance with getting a few wins and climb the table," he said
