Renegades may bring back Gayle despite ‘don’t blush’ furore

The Melbourne Renegades are thinking about bringing back Chris Gayle for another 'Huge Bash' cricket competition regardless of the furore the West Indies batsman brought on by asking a correspondent out on the town amid a broadcast meeting.

Gayle was fined AUD $10,000 and pummeled by Renegades' administration in January in the wake of coordinating individual remarks at Channel Ten correspondent Mel McLaughlin.

"To see your eyes surprisingly is decent," the 36-year-old said. "Ideally, we can have a beverage a while later. Try not to become flushed, child."

The Jamaican later told correspondents it was a "straightforward joke" that had been made a huge deal about and offered a qualified statement of regret to McLaughlin.

Victoria state and Renegades mentor David Saker said that while Gayle's conduct wasn't right it would not figure his selecting choices.

"I simply pick a squad of players. On the off chance that the chains of importance or individuals in higher positions than myself descend on that, they do," Saker told neighborhood media. "We know it was the wrong thing to do and he likely distinguished that rapidly. We as a whole did. Be that as it may, I think what happened a short time later was somewhat of a beat-up.

"There's still a shot of (selecting Gayle). To be reasonable, we presumably require an abroad bowler, however. We're taking a gander at whether to go down that track or to select a bowler from inside Australia.

"So we're experiencing whether we have to re-sign Chris Gayle."

One of the world's most wrecking constrained overs batsmen, the previous West Indies chief praised a second World T20 win in India a month ago.
